On Saturday August 9, we celebrated Bodhi’s 12th birthday.”Celebrated” might be too strong a word…We “Observed” Bodhi’s 12th Birthday. He had his usual Saturday morning walk to the Brooklin Farmer’s Market, where he and Tucker met many other doggie friends and indulged in various samples from vendors. Bodhi is a Lhasa Apso/Shih Tzu cross, and since Lhasas are a Tibetan breed, we named him after the tree under which Buddha became enlightened, the Bodhi tree. That was after I accepted defeat when unsuccessfully searching for the Tibetan word for “articulating bus”.
If you’ve seen Bodhi, you may have noticed his unusually elongated body, which always reminded me of those articulating TTC buses in Toronto.
The picture isn’t new, but it’s one of my favourites of him.
