We're Waaaaaaiting...

Maybe it’s related to the same passion that lead me to become a chiropractor, but the thought of nurturing seeds to plants, cultivating the conditions that allow them to grow to bear fruit and sustain us, is so satisfying.

This is the first year that I’ve grown anything of significance from the seed stage and between my vacation, the weather and available time, my seedling tomatoes are now much bigger than seedlings and are still awaiting their permanent home in the soil of my garden.

Patiently waiting for their spot in the sun.

This is what it looks like today, outside my patio door in a makeshift semi-shelter I’ve created between the barbeque and a plastic tablecloth secured to the deck railing where all my tomatoes, peppers (and a few other various plants) are currently harbouring.  Now it’s time to send them from the nest and see how successfully they bear fruit!

Cabbage And Dwarf Grey Peas

I lost my first seedlings of cabbage due to poor timing with my holiday, but have started a second batch of cabbage and some dwarf grey peas that will hopefully be ready for the soil before the heat is too extreme for them.  The future of my marjoram (not shown in the picture), that I have been nursing form some time now, is not looking very hopeful.

I feel like that 2nd grader with the pea-in-a cup project we all must have done, but with much higher self-imposed expectations.

Gardening does have a way of bringing out the kid in us!

Gardening teaches us that growth takes patience, care, and the right conditions. Chiropractic care follows the same principle—helping individuals move, feel, and live better.
